Thrifty
Thursday is all about ways to save money in the classroom. If you’re like me, then each year, you spend
hundreds of dollars on your classroom. I
recently went to the teacher store in my town and walked out empty handed. The reason is that I already own the majority
of the items that apply to my grade level.
Since I only teach Reading, I am always on the lookout for things that
could enhance my classroom. Since I can
never find exactly what I want, I started making what I want.
So,
for those of you who are looking for ways to save money in your classroom, my
suggestion is to create your own posters.
You don’t have to have any artistic ability (I have absolutely zero
talent!!). You just need the
determination to do it. I recently
created a Common Core poster for my classroom.
It focused on questions to ask while reading. Making your own displays is a whole lot
cheaper than buying them. When you make
them, you also get to make sure the information on the posters is exactly what
you want. If you have any ideas on ways
for teachers to save money in the classroom, please share them!!
Happy Teaching!!
